The Job Didn't Matter!
Sorry for the delay in postings. After my recent sabbatical and move to Marblehead, I thought it would be best to hop on the saddle again and find a job fast. As you may know Netty can be very predictable. So I knew I had another week before she’d piss and moan that I didn’t have a job.Naturally ,I snatched the first job I could find. So for three and half days I was a canvasser for the Human Right Campaign. The HRC is one of the campaigns run by an organization simply called The Fund.
For a little background, the HRC is the largest gay and lesbian civil rights group. I was out canvassing to get new members to sign up and to raise money. If you didn’t already know in 31 states it is legal to fire someone for being gay or lesbian. However the HRC is trying to pass a bill through Congress that would make work place discrimination illegal in all 50 states.
Yes folks, I was one of those perpetually perky people on the street corners of Boston collecting money for the HRC. Shit, I’d probably have better luck being a hooker.
I should have know I’d suck at it and not fit in when I started. You see the office was run by 2 just out of college girls. I for get their names either Daisy Meadow or thumper. I knew the had to do with flowers or some woodland creature. Point being the two ditzs couldn’t run a sorority let alone a campaign office.
So every day I would go out on the street with my co-workers playing the role of Perky Polly trying to collect at least $200 a day. Christ I think one the requirements for the job was you had to be vegetarian or stoned.
Before we would canvass, we’d go have lunch and all the vegans would sit and eat their tofu and curry, then go have a cigarette.
I would always inquire, “For Christ if you’re going to be so health cogence and not eat meat why are you smoking.”
They would always reply that the cigarettes were either clove or menthol.
Well that’s good they’re still going to get cancer but in the delusional minds the air would spell fresher. NOT!
Don’t get me wrong I do believe in the cause and want to end work place discrimination however I want to be little more productive and organized doing it.
So I took the liberty of adding the HRC web site on right of the blog. Take a look and go directly to the source. Because working with the fund is a job that does not matter.

Give Kevin An "A" For Effort!
So I made the mistake of crumbling under not yet foreseen pressures and took a job as a canvasser.
I say it was "unforeseen" pressure due the fact that since I'm out of the loony bin and back living with Netty & Jack, it would only be a few more day before Netty was up my ass about getting a job. Trust me living in the nut house for a week is a cake walk compared to living with Netty.
But, back to the job. I canvassed for 2.5 for the Human Rights Campaign because I feel passionately enough about equality for all humans.
The Humans Rights Campaign is the largest Gay & Lesbian civil rights group. You can Click over on the right to see what their all about. It mind boggling to believe in 31 states it is legal to terminate an employee for being gay or lesbian.
My job was to the man on the street to sign up HRC Partners and raise money to pass the bill though congress.
While I have the big mouth for the job, people in Boston are big givers, so i never quite made the quota. OK, the truth I never even got close. Plus they only gave me a couple days to try. Not only that a fellow canvasser was evading my space and taking potential donators away from me.
So I said chalk my time up as volunteer work let me find a better outlet for my skills and energy.
Hey at least I tried!

Yo Ro! Move On!
Rosie O'Donnell has more fightin' words for nemesis Elisabeth Hasselbeck ... and for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
She wrote on her blog on Saturday:
sarah p - elisabeth h - identical cousinswomen who hunt in high heelsgives one pause.
Left-leaning O'Donnell chose to depart the ABC daytime talk show "The View" earlier than planned last year following an on-air confrontation with the more conservative Hasselbeck.
Time to close the chapter and move on Rosie! If you need pointers. Read my blog!
As a featured guest on "The Martha Stewart Show" in April, O'Donnell referred to her former co-host on "The View" as "a little Republican who scared me."
Last year, Hasselbeck said she tried to keep her cool during her on-air spat with O'Donnell, in which a political discussion over the war in Iraq became heated when an angry O'Donnell decried Hasselbeck for not standing up for her when media outlets suggested that she'd called U.S. troops "terrorists" during a previous debate.

READ THIS BLOG!
Hey Y'all! I pleading with you to read this witty and insightful blog. It details my life, struggles and opinions of the world around me.
But also more importantly, I want to use it as a stepping stone to becoming a writer and humorist in the style of David Sederis.
Come on now! If Tori Spelling can debut at #1 on the New York Times bestsellers list by telling "sTori's" about what a big c*** Shannen Doherty is, I definitely should be able to amount to something with my important stories.

The Queen Snorted Coke!

Nothing like a Dame with a drug habit!
63-year-old actress Helen Mirren has revealed that she used to enjoy a bit of the nose candy aka cocaine.
In an online interview with a British tabloid she stated, "I loved coke. I never did a lot, just a bit at parties." She stated however that when it was discovered, way back when, that notorious Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie was living in South America as a drug baron she gave up her habit because she did not want the money getting to him. Wow, not only is a rational, giving, caring human being but she is trendy to boot. Who knew? Here's hoping all the teenagers that read about this out there don't start rolling up their lunch dollars and doing coke hits off their autographed Helen Mirren posters.
Only a little coke? OK Helen! And I only eat one chip after I open the can of Pringles!
Dancing At Netty's!
Now that I have jumped from the frying pan known as Netty and into Netty’s flame, (in other words I’ve moved back to Marblehead to live with Netty & Jack), there should be more outlandish stories and comments to share.
What better way to begin is to give my opinion about the new cast of Netty’s favorite obsession:
I don’t really need to discuss all the contestants, however there are two that need to be highlighted.

First up is NSYNC’s resident out gay boy, Lance Bass. Will he or won’t he have a same-sex partner.
I’m hoping not. And here’s why.
DWTS is a cult camp classic and if we are going to be PC and have
Bass dance with a man then we will be forced to endure another contestant (Cloris Leachman) dance with some one closer to her age. Seeing 82 year old Leachman dance with some old fart instead of a 50 year younger muscle stud will take away all the camp appeal of the show.
That’s just my opinion! What’s yours?

The Sabbatical Is Over!
So I took a brief break due to some personal issues, which I should and will discuss later. Just not sure if I'm ready, willing and able to use this as the forum of choice. I might like to save it for a public speaking outlet or work in into my book I'm attempting to write. But I do promise it will be discussed dissected and analyzed in the off the cuff slant I'm known for.
